Q3 Microsoft CSP price adjustment lands 1 Oct — lock your renewal rate

License transfer policy

When licenses can move to us, away from us, or between entities — and when the publisher simply will not allow it.

Last updated 22 August 2026

The honest summary: subscriptions can usually be moved at renewal. Perpetual licenses usually cannot be moved at all. The publisher decides, not us.

Moving existing licenses to us

Subscriptions

Subscriptions bought direct from a publisher or through another partner can normally be transferred to us at the renewal date, and sometimes mid-term. The mechanism differs by program: some require you to accept a partner relationship request, others require the current partner to release the subscription. We will tell you which applies and what you need to click.

A transfer does not interrupt your service and does not change your tenant, your data, or your users.

Perpetual licenses

We can record perpetual licenses you already own in the tracking platform so your position is complete in one place, even where we did not sell them. That is a record-keeping exercise, not a transfer of ownership, and it does not make us responsible for licenses we did not supply.

Moving licenses away from us

If you want to move to another partner, tell us and we will release the subscription at the earliest point the publisher's rules allow. We do not charge an exit fee, we do not require notice beyond what the publisher requires, and we will not delay a release to hold on to a renewal.

You keep your license certificates and keys. Your record in the tracking platform will be exported to you on request and then deleted.

Transfers between companies

Where a business is sold, merged, or restructured, some licenses can be reassigned to the new entity and some cannot. This is set entirely by the publisher's license agreement. As a general rule, volume and subscription agreements have a defined process, while OEM licenses are tied permanently to the device they shipped with and cannot be moved at all.

Tell us what is happening and we will find out what your specific agreements permit before you commit to anything in the transaction.

What we cannot do

  • Transfer an OEM license off the hardware it was supplied with.
  • Split a license grant across entities where the agreement does not allow it.
  • Override a publisher's decision on eligibility, or appeal it on your behalf as though we were you.
  • Transfer a license that has been terminated for a compliance breach.

What it costs

Nothing. We do not charge for transferring licenses in or out, or for loading existing licenses into the tracking platform. Where a publisher charges a fee for a transfer, we pass it through at cost and show it to you before proceeding.

How to start

Email contact@everupinc.com with what you currently hold — a screenshot of your admin centre or a copy of your last invoice is usually enough. We will tell you what can move, what cannot, and when.
